Global research firm Mintel highlighted four trends in 2016 including Gastronomia. The trends report noted that interest in natural ingredients is on the rise, as more people get involved in the process of creating beauty products. Whether they’re making products in their kitchen—or buying them in store or online, consumers continue to place emphasis on what they’re putting on their skin, just as with what they’re putting in their bodies. The healthful choice for both food and face & body points to fruits. And brands are juicing up the choices in a bountiful way. Here’s a look at some of the latest delectable brands, with mouth-watering packaging designed to draw attention to the “natural” formulations. Take a look at the slideshow above – here’s a few of the products that are featured, along with their edible inspirations. Delectable Beauty Milk Makeup says its vegan Hydrating Oil ($24) moisturizes and hydrates skin with a lightweight formula with one easy swipe—while ingredients including apricot, avocado, calendula, jojoba and orange peel oils absorb quickly into skin. The milky white easy-to-use stick gets a fresh and hygienic message across. Dr. Hauschka’s Revitalizing Mask ($56), great for all skin types, “revitalizes dull skin, visibly reduces pores and softens hardened tissue” thanks to “nurturing” plant oils and extracts, including quince seed, anthyllis and chamomile. Added jojoba, apricot kernel and wheat germ oils add up to a complexion with a heathy, radiant finish. The crisp white tube with dual-language copy is simple and clean. A new Target-exclusive bath and body line, Mayfair Soap Foundry, is bringing premium ingredients and sumptuous scents to consumers. The brand is a modern take on luxurious British bath lines. One choice offers the scent of Grapefruit and Bergamot ($8.99) in an affordably priced collection for women, and partnering with Starlight Children’s Foundation, which supports children and their families through difficult health challenges. The clear jar looks like it holds crystallized grapefruit—and could have been made and labeled in someone’s kitchen. Avocados are one of the most universally known superfoods because they are full of nutrients, antioxidants and vitamins that are good for you on the inside and out. Nourish Organic Renewing + Cooling Eye Treatment ($19.99), contains avocado that helps nourish the skin around the eyes to help revive tired eyes, keeping them looking youthful. Primary and secondary packaging images are clean and fresh. Pomegranates have been cultivated since ancient times, and recent research shows that the succulent seeds may slow aging. Promise Organic Coconut Oil with Pomegranate ($19.99), is a multipurpose antioxidant-rich, coconut oil with organic pomegranate seed oil that can be used to hydrate face, body and hair. Pomegranates also come into play in John Masters Organics Facial Nourishing Oil ($30), which can also be used on hands, feet and body. The recipe includes 12 organic plant and essential oils for ultimate hydration. The product gets a pharma feel with an amber-colored bottle and today’s ever-popular dropper applicator. The brand makes its eco-responsibility known upfront—or on top of the carton’s flap with the copy: “Our new box uses 50% less material.” See these and more in the slideshow above.
